Her prayer flags flutter away clouds

revealing Annapurna

draped in glaciers

drawn down in curves of weight.

Tree trunks snake upwards

cold winds shape their reach

glowing in the light caught

through moving haze

Gnarled, peeling trunks

a waterfall of pink and red —

rhododendron petals

spilling over ferns and moss

clinging to this green underbelly.

The bridge between two peaks

clouds obscure the depths

holding steady

Neck bells resonate —

shaggy white and black yaks

edge along the ridge

Tiny lilac primroses

peering through hail pearls

In the liminal softness of mist

in my hollows

a hum — Nāda.
