The iridescent hexagons
In the soaring butterfly’s eyes
Reveal so many memories,
I try and capture those
I fear are fading,
Grasping at nuances
Hoping to hold onto them forever.
Where is the topaz pendant I gave you -
That brightened your chest - and your face
And in that, the blue kajal
That brought your eyes alive,
Gliding in the whiffs
Of rose attar on you,
Entranced, you made it all go away.
With passing time, as my world dissolves
With expectation of your return
You are blending -
Blending with the one
That glides the slipstreams.
Will you wear the glow
Of sky blue hues?
Will I recognize what lies behind
The butterfly's gaze
When I meet you again?
